Immigration The reforms regarding immigration have heated the debate about the various beneficial or deleterious effects of the process. It should however be understood by all that all such processes have their positive as well as negative aspects. In my understanding, immigration has more positive than negative effects on the society as a whole. The first and foremost is the aspect of diversity that arises in the society due to immigration. The American land is a conglomerate center of the world and it harbors people from nearly every part of the planet.

This is one of the main reasons of the heightened level of cultural diversity that is evident on this land. The fact that America is very open to the rest of the world opens a number of beneficial opportunities for the Americans, not only in cultural terms but also in fiscal terms. Due to the fact that US are a developed country, it always remains the center of attention for the whole world. For this reason, immigration provides a means of ‘brain drain’ from countries that have educated and trained people but lack the facilities to harvest them.

Regarding the economical aspect, I am of the opinion that it is very rare for the immigrants to turn into mere ‘resource consumers’; instead, people who travel to the US in search of opportunities are far more active in business activities than the locally settled Americans. It can therefore be concluded that immigrants in fact contribute to the growth of economy in a much better way.
