Communication Problems and RecommendationsThe grumbling among the employees demonstrates lack of effective communication between the management of XYZ and the subordinates. Regardless of the fact that the employees are not pleased with the favoritism which Mr. XYZ shows for his son, it is apparent that they have not approaches him and expresses their concerns through communication. Moreover, Mr. XYZ seems to praise his son despite of him frequently coming to work late. This is a scenario which reveals a communication barrier in the organization because it is possible that Mr.

XYZ is not informed about the lateness behavior of his son. It is evident that the employees within the company are not pleased with the tendency of Mr. XYZ to hire family members and friends. This has persisted because the employees have not been able to communicate their displeasure to the owner of the company. It is therefore recommended that the management of XYZ to establish a two way communication process between the management so that the employees will be allowed to talk out their concerns.

This would be achieved through forums and meetings where open discussions for improvement could be encouraged (Davis 278). It is through this that Mr. XYZ would be aware of the lateness of his son and the needs of the employees for successful and efficient attainment of business goals and objectives. The behavior of Larry, Carlos, Juan and Manny demonstrates a case where effective communication is disregarded by these four Spanish speaking individuals. This is revealed by the fact that they share jokes amongst themselves without involving the non Spanish speaking individuals.

It is evident that these individuals shut others away from communications. Moreover, they assume that other people would not understand what they are talking about. In this regard, it is true to assert that these individuals are barriers to effective communication. It is also possible that the Spanish speakers have not been told how important communication is in any social or professional setting. In the light of this case, it is recommended for those who get in contact with the Spanish speakers demonstrate to them the importance of communication so that they would not shut others from trying to initiate a conversation.

Additionally, the cultural or ethnic element within an organization or social interaction should be prevented from being a barrier to communication (Yi-Hui 334). This is seen in the case of the Spaniards who ignore those who are not able to understand Spanish and hence lock them out of conversation. The case of Grace is a demonstration of lack of company management to value communication as a tool which enhances relationships. Communication is aimed at coming up with solutions to problems (Davis 280).

However in this scenario, Grace refuses to listen to the problems which her subordinates are experiencing. The manner of communication that Grace exhibits is not mutual but rather embarrassing and discouraging. This is seen when she yells at employees in her office, a poor communication behavior which is heard by others within the organization. Rene would be having serious problems which are making him be late to work, but lack of communication is causing Grace to confront him without allowing him to express his concerns.

It is therefore recommended for management of organizations to value communication as a way of solving problems and understanding the problems which employees would be having. This is because poor communication ruins relationship as demonstrated by the fact that Rene avoids eye contact with Grace. Moreover the management should initiate communication and ensure that employees are privately told their mistakes without creating an embarrassing situation.Works CitedDavis, Paul, James.
